Inter Faith Ministry

Debrae is licensed in the state of California with the Universal Life Church. She can conduct her work as an inter-faith minister throughout the United States.

As an inter-faith minister Debrae is open and willing to involve your specific set of religious beliefs to help you create your perfect ceremony. She offers weddings and other passage ceremonies as alternatives to traditional ceremonies, or she can be an alternative minister for a traditional ceremony.

For a wedding ceremony Debrae offers a wedding package that includes:

•   Ceremony co-creation/writing
•   Two counseling sessions
•   Rehearsal
•   Actual ceremony

She is also available for smaller wedding ceremonies. She can also be the acting minister for an already created ceremony and simply come to the rehearsal and ceremony.

Other ceremonies can include: baby naming, sabot rituals and ceremonies, rites of passage, blessing ways for new babies, menstruation, crones, new businesses, new life directions, and funerals/life celebrations. Debrae can create a custom ceremony for your unique celebration.

Debrae believes her spiritual calling is deeper than one religion, and that we are all connected within the basic idea of spirituality across religions, which is LOVE. She also believes that women need a greater place and representation in the ministry.

In 1990 she began keeping the seasonal sabots, and led many rituals and circles to hold space for the Old Religion and the elements. As well, she researched the more ancient rituals in our past and found many elements of all the religions today. Totally taken and fascinated with how different cultures and people express ceremonially, she began to study the dieties, rhythms, and ceremonies of the Afro-Cuban people. In 2000 she journeyed to Africa to study the dances, songs, rhythms, and ceremonies of the West African people in Guinea and Mali and again in Haiti in 2002. Her ongoing studies have greatly enriched her experience and knowledge of different cultures’ spirituality; this makes her an informed and humble minister who incorporates her rich, diverse experience into her counseling and ceremonies.

Debrae believes deeply that anyone, of any race, gender, creed, or belief should be allowed to marry who they are in love with and enjoy the benefits of marriage in their life!
